Krista Marlatt, director at Jabian Consulting, serves in a unique role as a mentor to Georgia State University students with high potential for leadership in technology careers.

Atlanta, Georgia – September 19, 2011 – Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business has acknowledged Jabian’s Krista Marlatt for her contributions as a mentor to recipients of the Bergeron Women in Technology Leadership Scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded to female undergraduate or graduate students who have demonstrated high potential for leadership careers in technology. It grants a fully paid tuition award to a student who is then matched up with a professional mentor designed to assist with educational and career advancement. Marlatt has worked with three mentees in the program over the last two years, and plans to serve as a mentor again for the most recent group of award recipients.

“Krista embodies the spirit of mentoring, both at Jabian and outside the firm,” says Jabian co-founding partner Nigel Zelcer. “Her own success, paired with her desire to help others succeed, make her a strong role model for those just coming into the industry.”

The mentorship program is chaired by Sandra Bergeron, a Venture Partner with Trident Capital, chairman of the board of TraceSecurity Inc., and board member of Qualys Inc. and TriCipher Inc. The program was funded with a $1 million endowment from Bergeron and her husband, Douglas G. Bergeron.
