Atlanta, Georgia – September, 2010 – As part of its corporate culture, Jabian Consulting puts an emphasis on community leadership, encouraging its employees to get involved in service and best-practice sharing organizations. Consultant Hank Lamberth embraces that service-oriented philosophy in his work with the Association for Strategic Planning, which recently asked him to join its Atlanta chapter board of directors.

“One of the things we talk about internally at Jabian is determining the areas we’re passionate about – where do we have a real interest?” says Lamberth. “Getting involved as a volunteer in organizations that you care about makes you more likely to stick with it and contribute something of value at the end of the day.” Lamberth has been working with the ASP for the past year, where he enjoys bringing local professionals from different sectors together for learning opportunities in the strategic arena.

The ASP was founded in 1999 and is the only not-for-profit professional association dedicated to advancing thought and practice in strategy development and deployment for business, non-profit, and government organizations in America. A national organization with chapters in several cities across the US, it provides opportunities to explore top of mind strategic planning principles and practices that improve organizational achievement. The membership enjoys a varied mix of organizational leaders, strategy practitioners, consultants, and academics.

“Like anything else, it’s wise to look at this kind of involvement from a strategic standpoint. An organization must clearly understand its role in community initiatives and memberships,” says Jabian co-founding partner Chris Reinking. “If you’re going to invest time and resources, how can you best deliver high value returns? Committing to a leadership position is one way to make a bigger difference. We are proud of Hank as he begins his journey of community leadership.”

Jabian employees or partners presently serve on 10 boards and several other committee roles related to causes and organizations that support the community in which they live and work.
